Hi,
We have several articles about the rampant illicit market in California, Oregon and Oklahoma and its relationship to organized crime. A few weeks ago the Sackler Family, makers of dangerous opioids, made a settlement to pay $4.5B but with immunity from future lawsuits. With an estimated net worth of $11B, the family would still be in great shape. This week, a judge invalidated the settlement so the Sacklers are still on the hook for hundreds of pending lawsuits. The CDC is recommending expanding life-saving fentanyl test strip programs. Underground labs secretly insert fentanyl into street drugs to save money. By mixing coated strips of paper and a small amount of water, users can see if their drug has dangerous fentanyl. These save lives.
