Senator Chuck Schumer and his colleagues finally released the first draft of their cannabis legalization proposal. States will decide local legality though the feds will decriminalize. But there is some doubt that this plan can get enough Republican buy-in if they don't change the filibuster rules. The plan also includes a 25% federal tax which would strengthen the illicit market and make it harder for people to purchase their medicine. That is unless it's eventually covered by insurance carriers and leads to fewer prescription drugs purchases. Psychedelics are a step closer to being legalized in California though advocates are bristling at including maximum allowable amounts in the bill.

Sasha Baron Cohen is suing a Massachusetts dispensary for $9M for using Borat's image on a billboard to promote their store. Maybe no one explained the concept of paid endorsements to them. I recommend they apologize profusely and offer him lot's of free weed. :)
