Hi,
The U.S. cannabis industry is currently weathering the storm. The collapse of Herbl, a large California cannabis distributor, highlights the precariousness of the industry—even for those who are well-established. This will have repercussions as Herbl owed millions to other cannabis companies. In fact, a recent analysis shows that only 24% of cannabis businesses in the U.S. are profitable.
Theft and the illicit market are also complicating things. Here In the Bay Area, for example, the FBI uncovered a drug smuggling operation by United Airlines employees at the San Francisco Airport in an unexpected way. Workers targeted at gunpoint are revealed to have been smuggling trash bags of cannabis. And in Oakland, a first-of-a-kind robbery targeted a cannabis shop through the brazen use of a forklift. They say that the cannabis industry is like the Wild West. I'll tell you what the Wild West didn't have. Forklifts!
