California is taking proactive steps to boost its cannabis industry by doubling grant funding aimed at helping localities open licensed cannabis shops to hopefully accelerate growth. On the federal level, the debate about rescheduling cannabis continues, but the director of NORML makes a case that simply moving cannabis to a different schedule won't resolve the ongoing conflict between federal and state cannabis laws. In international news, Canadian medical cannabis exports have seen a 48% increase, with 59K kilograms exported in the last fiscal year. Australia and Israel are the top importers followed by Germany. I think that the top cannabis importer title works well with Australia's laid-back accent. And Israel? What if Israeli and Palestinian leaders gathered for a smoke session by the campfire? Who knows, maybe the magic herb will help them draw a map that brings peace! :)
