Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family have agreed to pay $7.4 billion to settle lawsuits from 15 states over their role in the opioid crisis. While they are still open to more lawsuits they worked out a deal where these states will pay for part of future lawsuits! Can’t we just stop negotiating and put these guys in jail? An analysis showed that cannabis users are more likely to use CBD than non-users. Another recent study reported that patients experienced significant reductions in pain following cannabis use. Put these developments together and I wonder how much of our opioid epidemic could have been avoided if doctors were prescribing CBD and cannabis instead of opioids. ;)
