Hi,
Oregon's governor made a bold move by declaring that dispensaries won't have their licenses renewed unless they settle their back taxes. Over in California, companies are facing tax payment issues, often due to license holders having debts to one another. To tackle this, a large group of cannabis distributors and brands have taken matters into their own hands by creating and circulating a blacklist of dispensaries that they aren't willing to work with.
The owner of an illicit bakery chain in New York recently told the NY Post, "If it wasn't legal, we'd be in handcuffs, no?" Well, a few days later they put him in handcuffs and slapped them with a hefty $13K fine. The bakeries were shut down due to "health department violations." I wonder if this will become the strategy moving forward with the numerous unlicensed locations in New York.
