A study showed that 31% of those who are suffering from chronic pain in medicinal or adult use states use cannabis to alleviate their pain. Half of the participants said it helped them reduce opioid use.

A recent report found that these prisoners were facing penalties even when the states have decriminalized or legalized cannabis.
