View All (505)Delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol inhibits cell cycle progression by downregulation of E2F1 in human glioblastoma multiforme cells (2008)
This research used several experimental approaches, which identified delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (D9 -THC) as an essential mediator of the anticancer action of the cannabinoid. Throughout the study it was demonstrated that D9 -THC considerably affects the viability of the cells of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) through a mechanism that seems to cause the arrest of G1 due to the negative regulation of E2F1 and Cyclin A.
